1is CANYON gathering Alpine Club in the Massif du Canigou : Success !
Around seventy participants gathered at the first Trans-gathering canyoning in the Massif du Canigou. From all over France - Pyrenees Orientales, Aude, Lozère, Bouches du Rhône, Midi-Pyrenees, Alps – and Spain, these practitioners thrill met in Prades during the long weekend 15 août.
The Canigou contains canyons among the most beautiful of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Some gems of the genre coexist next to each other just a few kilometers distance. Each has its own specific. Canyon St. Vincent terminating the cascade of English is far more technical, the longest and most demanding of all. The Cady has a remarkable final estrecho the water has carved over time. The Taurinya unfolds in a wild. The Fed has the distinction of linking large vertical. Not to mention the most famous of all, le Llech, where the sequence of obstacles without interruption makes it more fun. Besides, the property owner, M Delcasso, reflects not only the overcrowding of this natural curiosity abyss place.
Evening, everyone ended up at the municipal camping Plain St. Martin de Prades where the reception was very warm. Exchanges around the activity was rife. The canyons of the previous day were scanned again. The RIF will take place in Luchon the weekend 12 September was on everyone's lips… Then, all these people headed for high school Charles Renouvier to eat. The kitchen team were waiting to put in four to recharge the batteries of the day to come.
The birth of this activity started for a lot from the cavers who discovered the route to open. During this weekend, the latter were not left. Local bats accompanied the tame volunteers in the cavities around Villefranche de Confluent. Angorner, Aven Perez are all names to names that sing in the ears of. Not to mention, the vast maze of Canalettes where the sisters Delonca always welcome with open arms the darks and lights amateurs .... The president of the county committee of Speleology, M Perez, we had the pleasure of coming to greet us.
Most young people from schools and Climbing Adventures of our clubs were able to discover these two sports and all have had a question mark at the end of this weekend : "That's when the next rally ? ».
With the support of all the volunteers executives Alpine Clubs PO, Languedoc Roussillon Regional Committee associated with the Departmental Committee of the Pyrenees Orientales CLUBS FRENCH ALPINE, organizing this gathering, allowed more to discover these gems that only specialists can travel activity with the exception of a few fishermen more than reckless.
Alongside the rally, two courses were organized by the CAF together 14 Trainees : one to empower practitioners, each other to form in the activity monitors. During the year, through the cooperation of state services – in this case the DDCS with one hand and professional rescue department on the other hand, training courses are organized by the FFCAM to make its autonomous members. Thereby, they can attend the mountain with a guarantee of some security. Besides, at the rally, Both teams have lent strong hands to supervised by professionals with a member in distress groups.
