Seb Bouin, one of the best climbers on the planet was passing through Tautavel to try his hand at an old project. Four days of testing will have been necessary to make the top. Verdict : 8c+/9a !!! Bravo Seb !
Currently working on two large cliff projects, « DNA » au Verdon (Was) and “Bibliography” at Céüse (High mountains), Seb Bouin, based in Montpellier, granted itself a small truce this autumn the time to breathe in a route “easier”. En effet, by dint of working extreme movements, Seb admits having lost the pleasant feeling of clipping a relay. Thereby, he gave life to “Les Mythes au logis”, a route that awaited its first ascent in more than two decades. Located in Tautavel in the Alzine sector, this line looks like a small “Chilam Balam” according to Seb Bouin. NB : "Chilam Balam" is located in Villanueva del Rosario in the Province of Malaga in Spain. Avec 82 m developed, 22 spits, and near 400 movements, it is exceptionally long. For "The Myths at Home", Seb Bouin proposes the rating of 8c+/9a. This line equipped by Manu Da Silva nearly 20 years corresponds to the long version d’ "Wing axis". For the first time, the mythical barrier of the ninth degree (maximum level reached today in climbing) is crossed in the department.

"There are the main projects where we stay focused for a long time, And there are the others. I've been trying two big projects for a few months, and I almost forgot what to chain a route 
. Last weekend, we went to Tautavel, in the Alzine sector, near Perpignan. There was an old project waiting for a first ascent in quite a few years (more 20 years?). It is the extension of a historic route “Wing axis” 8b (now 8a +). This gorgeous line looks like a little Chilam Balam with a nice bow to start with and a nice end wall with block steps to finish. 4 climbs were necessary to chain these lines. Regarding the quotation, I'm pretty lost because I don't have too many comparisons right now. I try two extreme routes, and it is quite far in terms of level. I will offer an 8c + / 9a. This route will soon have repeaters because the beauty of the line is worth the detour. »
